Nickos Harizanos: The Travelling Musicians, op.104
Educational Project

Our next work for students will be by the Greek composer Nickos Harizanos, which he composed especially for this purpose. It is called The Travelling Musicians, op.104 for piano-4 hands and narrator, based on the homonymous fairy tale by Brothers Grimm.
Olivier Messiaen: Visions de l' Amen (Visions of the Amen)
Lecture - Recital

This ecstatic and thrilling work for two pianos, the only work composed for piano duo by Messiaen, was written in 1943, immediately after Messiaen's repatriation. It is a cornerstone of his musical language since it is one of his first works, if not the first, where he uses and establishes in a very significant way his personal profound beliefs concerning Catholic faith and Music. It is worth saying that a recording of an outstanding interpretation of the work by the composer himself and his pupil (later his second wife) Yvonne Loriod exists.
