Olivier Messiaen: Visions de l' Amen (Visions of the Amen)
                                                Lecture - Recital

This ecstatic and thrilling work for two pianos, the only work composed for piano duo by Messiaen, was written in 1943, immediately after Messiaen's repatriation. It is a cornerstone of his musical language since it is one of his first works, if not the first, where he uses and establishes in a very significant way his personal profound beliefs combining Catholic faith and Music. It is worth mentioning that a recording of a historic interpretation of the work by the composer himself and his pupil (later his second wife) Yvonne Loriod exists.
